LK James is an artist and illustrator living in California. She makes work that is open-hearted, wry, and exuberant depicting everyday objects and the natural world. In addition to designing books in collaboration with clients in the publishing industry, she continues to develop a body of work in the form of printmaking, drawing, painting, and publications.

Her children's book, The Full House and The Empty House, is published by Chicago Review Press.

She studied English literature at Portland State University (2010) and received an MFA in Applied Craft + Design from Pacific Northwest College of Art (2018).
